Introducing Fetch by WebMD
Fetch by WebMD is a new site devoted to the health and wellness of pets, including topics such as behavior and training, preventive care, nutrition and exercise, natural remedies, and advice on finding the right medications. We hope it becomes your go-to site for keeping your best friend healthy, happy, and fit.
Check Flu Activity Where You Live
From late fall to early spring, we see an increase in people reporting cold and flu symptoms in our popular WebMD Symptom Checker. We use that information to create our WebMD Cold & Flu Activity Map that lets you know which parts of the country are reporting minimal, moderate, or very high levels of cold and flu activity. This year, we are making the map easier to read by shading high-activity areas in red. Check it out, and remember it's not too late to get your flu vaccine!

Increasing Focus on Prevention
At WebMD, we talk a lot about preventing cancer and other diseases through diet, exercise, stress reduction, and other behavior changes. This fascinating and growing area of medicine is a special focus for staff doctor Neha Pathak, a board-certified internal medicine physician who last month earned another board certification, this time from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
Lifestyle medicine is an evidence-based approach to treat, reverse, and prevent chronic disease by addressing the root causes, including diet, exercise, sleep, and social support. Health professionals trained in lifestyle medicine will write specific prescriptions for exercise and diet, along with medication.
"It's a holistic approach focusing on how to keep you as healthy as possible, not just treating disease," Pathak says. She plans to use her knowledge to write blog posts and help inform WebMD's content on disease prevention.
